As long as it has wheels that can turn, humans will always find a way to motorize it. Big or small, slow or fast, we love making things move by motorizing them, and it doesn’t get more ridiculous than a gas-powered Volkswagen Beetle fender. You read that right: we’re not talking about a gas-powered VW Beetle, we’re talking about a single beetle fender. Ok so the images you see before you are only renderings, but they’re super realistic and gives you a clear idea of just how cool this little machine could be. Aldekas Studio is the designer behind this creation, and we have to lift our hats to this one: it looks absolutely brilliant.

Whether it’s a backyard build or an official Lamborghini machine, go-karts can be awesome fun. As long as it looks good and goes, we’ll be into it. The renderings you see here take inspiration (clearly) from the flowing design of the classic Type 1 VW Beetle’s fender design and is seamlessly integrated into a kart design that looks as though it was meant to be. Aldekas Designs specializes in the restoration of vintage cars, especially Beetles, so that explains where part of the inspiration comes from. These renderings highlight a few design elements that we think are absolutely genius.

The olive green paint on the fender is subtle enough to pass for a vintage look, but the red highlights that shine through from the chassis turns this little machine into a sort of rat rod. Two other elements seal the deal here: the addition of a healthy dose of chrome keeps this cart cemented in VW Beetle folklore, and the tasteful Saddle Brown seat adds a touch of cafe racer. Unfortunately we have no idea what powers this little kart, or if it will ever be built, but if we know one thing it’s this: a VW Beetle fender has never looked this good.
